“Gazprom supplies gas for transit through Ukraine

“Gazprom” regularly supplies gas for transit through Ukraine, in accordance with the requests of consumers, in the amount of 51.7 million cubic meters on April 24, the company said.

“Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through Ukraine in the normal mode, in accordance with the requests of European consumers – 51.7 million cubic meters on April 24,” the statement said.

Contract obligations of Gazprom on transit to Ukraine for the current year make 40 billion cubic meters, or about 109.6 million cubic meters per day. At the same time, since the end of February, the Ukrainian transit of Russian gas, fueled by political risks and cold weather, has been kept close to this volume. It decreased only slightly for a couple of days in mid-March.

In April, simultaneously with the warming in Europe, transit decreased again. This, however, does not indicate a breach of the transit contract, which is based on the “pump or pay” principle.
