Residents of the Yakut village, who lost their homes in the fires, received 30 thousand rubles each. The money was paid to 175 victims, Interfax reports, citing local authorities. Earlier, the head of Yakutia ordered to rebuild houses at the expense of the regional budget.
Forest fires, continuing to rage in Yakutia, destroyed 40 residential buildings, as well as outbuildings. The Emergencies Ministry warns that the smoke from the fires, which has already been noticed at the Arctic stations, can reach Moscow.
