The program of parallel imports in Russia will be extended along with other measures that are aimed to support imports, the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said.
In the spring the Russian authorities legalized the parallel import to meet the demand for foreign goods in demand. One of the principles, according to which the goods are included in the list, is the termination of supplies to the Russian market.
At the same time parallel import does not mean legalization of counterfeit, the measure implies the import of original goods, but through alternative supply channels, stressed the Ministry of Industry and Trade. According to the relevant federal law, the norm is valid until the end of 2022.
“I will say a few more words about the extension of the measures, because last week the chairman of the government considered proposals to extend the measures,” Reshetnikov said, speaking Friday at a meeting on the development of the Northwest Federal District as part of a visit to Petrozavodsk.
“As of today, 37 anti-crisis measures have been extended for another year. These are, of course, regulatory measures related to simplification of cargo flows and goods turnover inside the country and at border crossing, protection of landlords’ interests before tenants from unfriendly countries, simplification of certain kinds of medicines sale”, – said the Minister.
“The second big area is import support. Here we have extended parallel imports, simplified procedures for declaring imported products, and the acceleration of customs procedures. All this will continue to work”, – he added.
